The planning is complete, the dress is on the hanger you carefully selected and purchased on Etsy, the reception seating chart is ready, your jewelry for the day is in its velvet box & the big day has arrived. Do your best to enjoy the day! You’re making lifetime memories and you want them to be the best.
Here are a few suggestions to make sure that your day is stress free and filled with beautiful moments & memories to last a lifetime.
- Make sure all the things you plan to wear are organized and packed together…include in this your unmentionables, jewelry, hair ornaments, shoes, bouquet charms, veil, & dress.
- Have a point person to handle all the questions from others for the day. This can be your wedding coordinator, maid/matron of honor, or someone you trust who is not in the wedding party. The goal is to not have people running to the bride to have her handle problems/people on the day of the wedding. It’s just the worst when a happy bride who is getting dressed is confronted with a planning issue like where to put the DJ booth or the need for a more sturdy table for the wedding cake. Have someone who knows your plans and can make good decisions.
- If alcohol is to be part of your day, have healthy limits in place. The last thing you need on your long awaited and well planned day is the Bride/Groom or wedding party being too tipsy to follow the plans for the day. Keep in mind that you want your entire day to be memorable for the right reasons. An out of control wedding party or guests can ruin your day, so plan accordingly.
- Work with your photographer(s) to plan the timeline for the day. This allows you to coordinate with your hair and makeup professionals to ensure that everyone is ready on time and that the day flows with ease. Make sure that you are not the last person for hair and makeup. You want to be ready early, so if the schedule does fall behind you are not the one rushing to get ready.
- Enjoy your day!!! If there are issues that arise, try not to stress and let other people help you solve issues.
